For sale is a pair of assembled Bottlehead C4S Camille Cascode Constant Current Source boards -- these sell for $35 in kit form from Bottlehead. These were removed from a working Bottlehead Foreplay II preamp for a customer. They're fully assembled and tested. Quoting Bottlehead's site: C4S is a high impedance current limit circuit for preamp and driver tubes, designed by John Camille as an improvement in effective impedance, power supply rejection and stability over previous designs using FETs or tubes. It includes two PNP transistors and two LEDs per tiny PC board (2 boards are provided in the kit for a stereo pair) and an extensive 28 page manual written by "Buddha" Camille himself. This current source may be used as a plate or collector load for voltage differentials up to 300 volts. Please feel free to contact me with questions! PLEASE NOTE: I've been informed that these boards are not identical to the usual C4S boards sold by Bottlehead. However, they were installed in a Foreplay II as cathode current sources, so I'm quite sure they are constant current sources. I don't have the documentation for them, so they are being sold AS-IS.
