I got a scanner from a friend of mine who is a firefighter and said that he had it in his house. It takes a DC-12v adapter (not included), antenna (included), and works well in a house, is easy to program. I do not have the owners manual but did find that Radio Shack's web page has helpful infromation for the operation of this scanner
